Having finished the Academy of Visual Arts in 1954, he became a member of the RADAR creative group in early sixties, and was a teacher and later a director of the Secondary School of Applied Arts. Apart from being a sculptor, Zdeněk Vodička focuses on drawing as an autonomous route of visual artistic expression. He presented his work at a great many national, collective, and independent exhibitions at home and abroad. He is represented in many galleries and private collections. He is a founding member of the TOLERANCE ’95 group and exhibits regularly with its other members. His principal tools of expressions currently include stone, wood, metal, and – for his new experiments – other materials.
